KU Orlando Campus Students Enjoy Heart Rate Viability Method Demonstration

Keiser University Orlando Campus Sport Medicine and Fitness Technology students recently welcomed Julimar Luiz Pereira, physiologist of the Brazilian Beach Soccer Team, to share  methods of training and assessment which use the Heart Rate Viability method.

Dr. Pereira, a specialist in sports training and cell biology, demonstrated how to accurately assess an athlete’s maximum rate of oxygen consumption measured during incremental exercise (known as VO2 max) along with heart and oxygen rates. Pereira was able to exhibit the method while comparing cyclist Eduardo Dezen’s bicycle ergometer performance against that of student volunteer Bryan Cook.
