Jacksonville Business Students Enjoy Tour of Transportation and Logistics Facility

Led by professor Jeremy Smith, Operations Management class students at Keiser University Jacksonville Campus recently enjoyed a tour of Aqua Gulf, a transportation and logistic company’s warehouse facility. The group was shown how general goods are stored and how hazardous material is segregated.

Leaders from Aqua Gulf demonstrated pride in their $3.5 million investment in a solar power system. The system allows the organization to completely power all operations using this technology. They will soon transition to electric forklifts making them a totally green facility.

Students completed the tour by walking through the refrigeration and freezer sections of the warehouse portion of the facility which allows them to store and move perishables without a temperature change in order to keep food fresh longer.
