Keiser University Fort Lauderdale Hosts Black History Month Display
Keiser University Fort Lauderdale recently celebrated Black history Month with a gallery reception featuring works by South Florida artist Shanique Dawkins.
A self-taught artist, Dawkins was born in Jamaica and immigrated to South Florida as a child. Her love of art developed at a young age and has evolved to include various interests and forms. She specializes in using charcoal to create contrasting realistic portraits.
Dawkins received recognition for her drawings at Broward Art Guild’s2018 Member’s Exhibition. The works on display were inspired by her closest friends and family and will be on display through February.
