Tutoring Helps Both Students who are Giving and Receiving Instruction
Student’s help each other get ready for their final exams in Tampa’s Teaching Learning Center through the peer tutoring program. Peer tutoring is a flexible, peer-mediated strategy that involves successful students serving as academic mentors for their classmates.
Peer tutors employ diverse techniques that show students how to remember and understand difficult subject matter. Peer tutors guide and facilitate students’ learning. The tutors also benefit by gaining academic, social, and career-related skills and rewards including Leadership Distinction volunteer hours.
