As Keiser University’s football team hosts the semifinals of the NAIA Football Championship Series, athletes invite fans to their last home game of the season on Saturday, December 9 at 1:00 PM.

While Keiser University Seahawk fans take note of the team’s high-powered offense and ground game, as well as its strong offensive line, local Palm Beach Central High School graduate and Keiser University senior offensive lineman Roderick Carter, Jr., shared that the sport has instilled priceless values from an early age.

“What I love most about football is the brotherhood. The bonds that you create will last you a lifetime,” said Carter. “Since my first ever game in Little League Football at Lake Lytal, I knew this was the sport for me. Football has taught me teamwork, responsibility, accountability, and how to work with and respect people with different backgrounds and beliefs,” he said.

A First-Team All-Sun Conference honoree, Carter has started in 10 games for the Seahawks this season, anchoring an offensive line that has helped Keiser register 2,615 on the ground (second-most in school history) with a school-record 42 rushing touchdowns. During the season, Carter and the offensive line have allowed only four sacks in 12 games played this season while the Seahawks have produced 4,819 yards of total offense (No. 14 in the NAIA), averaging 42.7 points per game (tied for No. 4 in the nation).

Inspired to earn his Keiser University Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration because of his father’s success as a corporate manager and the many opportunities in the field, Carter sends appreciation to his girlfriend Alexis Smith, Offensive Line Coach Jalani Lord and other coaches, and his sisters Rachelle and Rashea who ‘always lent a helping hand and supportive ear when needed.’ He also sends a special shout of thanks to his parents.

“My parents have been with me each step of the way and have supported every one of my decisions. They have instilled values in me through their guidance, shaping my character and decision-making. They have sacrificed and made a lot happen for me along the way,” reflected Carter of his mother and father Earthly and Roderick Carter.

The Keiser University Seahawks will take on The College of Idaho on Saturday, December 9^th at their home field located at Keiser University’s Flagship Campus at 2600 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida 33409.

Keiser University’s Bachelor of Arts degree in Business focuses on a basic understanding of business skills needed for entry-level business professionals.
