G-Star School of the Arts Premieres Film at KU’s Flagship Campus

G-Star School of the Arts recently premiered its annual film department production at Keiser University’s West Palm Beach Flagship Campus. The film titled A Western Trip, was written, directed and produced by G-Star students with faculty and staff members serving as executive producers. It starred Freshman students Rosey Baker and Bryan Lompre.

The Keiser University Cinematic Arts program introduces students to cinematic principles and techniques of filmmaking and video production. The curriculum provides students with an understanding of the film and video history and production, including foundations of the story, script analysis, editing, directing and cinematography. Keiser University is fortunate to have the opportunity for its Flagship Campus to work with and utilize the facilities of G-Star, as the school is located nearby making travel and student and faculty exchanges convenient for all.

While incorporating business principles, as well as more advanced coursework and a strong general education program, the curriculum’s interdisciplinary approach enables students to demonstrate their artistic expertise and application of business knowledge to enhance their career opportunities. Future filmmakers will be prepared to appreciate and apply cinematic arts skills and concepts, effectively communicate information using appropriate technologies, understand fundamentals of screenwriting, storytelling, structure, tension, suspense and more.
