Inspired by Professor Mom, Keiser University Sisters Graduate Together

Caitlyn and Courtney Seeloff, who recently celebrated their Keiser University Melbourne Campus Commencement at the King Center in Melbourne, Florida, credit their mother, Michele Tunick, a leading professor, for inspiring them to earn their degrees.
While sharing that her mother who serves as Keiser University Melbourne Campus’s Radiologic Technology Program Director unveiled the opportunities that education has to offer, Caitlyn, who earned her Associate of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, said, “My mother has been in the imaging field for 24 years, and I had taken an interest in the sciences since I was a child. She walked me through different modalities, programs, and ultimately, ultrasound stood out to me,” said Seeloff, who joined her sister, Courtney, in walking the stage as she earned her Associate of Science degree in Radiation Therapy.
“I am deeply proud of both of these remarkable young women. They have poured their hearts into their studies, showing dedication and resilience every step of the way. This milestone is only the beginning of what I know will be bright and fulfilling journeys for each of them. There is so much ahead for them to embrace and achieve. It has been such a gift to see their bright smiles on campus every day, and while I will miss having them so close as they take their next steps, I am filled with excitement to see all they accomplish as they step into the next chapter of their lives,” said Tunick of her daughters.
“The best part about it is that I have my beautiful little sister by my side through the whole ride. We started our programs together, and we were lucky to have a few classes together. We studied hard to pass our anatomy and physiology exams, and she held me up in that physics class… I have watched her grow and blossom into an intelligent, kind, beautiful, and courageous young woman. I am so proud of her for every achievement she has made, and I know she’s going to make a mountain more,” smiled Caitlyn.
Courtney agrees.
“I just want to say how much I’m proud of my sister,” she said. “She has grown so much, and I am so happy that she and I could go to the same school and finish together. Even though we’re in different majors, on different paths, I’ll always be by her side,” she said.
With the goal of becoming a travel sonographer, Caitlyn reflected on her educational journey.
“Graduating from this program is a goal I am so grateful to achieve, and the process has already grown me in so many ways. Working hard at something and achieving your goals shows you how to balance your time and energy and shows you that you can set a goal for anything and make your dreams a reality. These past two years at Keiser have been amazing, I have built so many relationships, learned so many new things, and have really grown into someone I am proud to be,” she said.
Next Steps
When asked what she would recommend to others who are contemplating a proper course of action, Caitlyn encourages taking action.
“You know your dreams. Go and get them. If they weren’t meant for you, you wouldn’t have the thought in your head! Congratulate yourself for getting through the tough times… With a little consistency, time, and hard work, one day you may not even realize it, but you’ll be sitting right where you know you’re supposed to be,” she said.
Highlighted Keiser University Programs
Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography presents an integration of didactic, laboratory, and clinical experiences. The program prepares students to function as entry-level diagnostic medical sonographers. Sonographers are highly skilled professionals qualified to provide patient services using diagnostic techniques under the supervision of a licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy and assist physicians in gathering data necessary to reach diagnostic decisions.
Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Radiation Therapy prepares students for entry-level positions in the profession, using ionizing-radiation producing equipment to administer therapeutic doses of radiation as prescribed by physicians for treatment of disease — generally cancer. The program’s graduates are eligible to take the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and are eligible for licensure by the State of Florida to practice Radiation Therapy.
