Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Program Director Dr. Corinna Balderramos Robinson recently enjoyed welcoming fellow law enforcement offers to a variety of competitions.

The Olympic-style rivalries known at The First Responder Games attract thousands of police, fire, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, military and federal agents from across the United States. This year’s Palm Beach County events were presented by First Responder Sports and held at various locations throughout Palm Beach County. “As a former combat veteran, I  was honored to welcome our competitors, as I felt a sense of camaraderie having served alongside federal, state and local law enforcement professionals for many years,” said Balderramos Robinson.

The annual events attract competitors in soccer, flag football, ice hockey, fishing, archery, golf, softball, bowling, billiards, darts, cycling, chess, and more.

The program provides an understanding of essential management skills and addresses unique proficiencies needed to understand Homeland Security at the Local, State, and Federal levels. Topics include cross cultural management, emergency management planning and critical infrastructure protection.
