Keiser University to graduate 400 at Lakeland Campus Spring Commencement

Lakeland, FL, May 14, 2018 – Keiser University’s ­­­­­­Lakeland campus will celebrate spring commencement on Wednesday, May 16. More than 400 students will cross the stage to accept their degrees in front of family, friends, faculty, and campus staff. The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. at RP Funding Center, 701 West Lime St. in Lakeland, Fl.

 

“Our campus proudly celebrates the achievements of these graduates who have earned degrees in diverse fields such as Nursing, Criminal Justice, Dietetics, Psychology, and Graphic Design.  I look forward to the profound positive impact they will make upon the Lakeland community and our surrounding counties as they enter the workforce,” Campus President Rebecca McDonnell said.

  

The student valedictorian for this graduating class is Morgan Mathis, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies. Morgan is motivated, competitive, and committed to excellence, qualities that resulted in a 4.0 GPA with no absences throughout her matriculation. She participated with and volunteered for several organizations and charitable causes. The salutatorian, Michael Frates, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutrition. 

 

This year’s commencement speaker is Senator Kelli Stargel. Senator Stargel serves as the Chair of the Finance and Tax Committee and as the Vice Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services. She also serves as the Senate Deputy Majority Leader, and is an appointee to the Education Commission of the States.
