Keiser University Leaders are Recognized by the Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition

Keiser University alumnus Wen Wen Li was recently recognized for his contributions to the Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition (PBCHC) at its virtual Champions Award program along with Keiser University West Palm Beach and Flagship campus Psychology Program Directors Dr. Sonia Troche and Dr. Robin Schupper.

Li was awarded for his ongoing contributions to the organization both as a Keiser University student intern and after earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree, as a volunteer. Troche was nominated for her assistance with the PBCBHC’s ‘Mental Health First Aid’ program in which community members are trained to identify those in distress and point them toward proper resources, and both Troche and Schupper were recognized for the vital role Keiser University plays as a provider of student interns.

“We are thankful to professor Sonia Troche for serving as the certified professional and project lead for this important effort,” said Keiser University West Palm Beach campus president Kimberly Lea. “We were pleased to proactively train our campus community regarding the important topic relating to mental health before COVID19 and look forward to continuing the training for our team and students on campus.”

The Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition was created to provide parents, youth, and neighborhoods the tools to continue building a healthier, drug-free community. By bringing together teens, parents, educators, business owners, and other partners, it coordinates activities, provides information, and organizes public awareness campaigns to steer youth and adults away from harmful decisions and towards program and support services.

Keiser University is a private, not-for-profit university, serving nearly 20,000 students and employing 2,900 faculty and staff members. Co-founded in 1977 by Chancellor Arthur Keiser, Ph.D., and Evelyn Keiser, the university currently offers more than 100 degrees at 21 Florida campuses, as well as online and at two international sites.
