Keiser University Men’s Golf Team Takes Home National Championship Title
The top-ranked Keiser University Seahawk Men’s Golf Team recently collected their first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Championship title after competing at the Tournament Players Club (TPC) Deere Run Golf Course in Silvis, Illinois.
The Seahawks finished the tournament at six-under-par (280, 282, 281, 287) for a team score of 1130.
“We’re really proud of our team, from the first day of school they were committed and determined to achieve something special. This group loves to compete, and in every tournament, we were in contention playing in the final pairings and having a blast. Playing some of the nicest golf courses in the country is such a privilege and we’re very grateful for all of the memories created this year,” said Coach Brandon Miller of the winning group that has earned nine-team wins and a 106-0 record vs. NAIA Components.
Dalton State finished second, three strokes behind Keiser. Freshman Jakob Stavang Stubhaug defeated Jack Dudeck of The Master’s on the first playoff hole to claim the 2022 NAIA Arnold Palmer National Individual Champion. Deere Run will host the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic beginning Thurs June 30, 2022.
