Keiser University Miami Hosts Guest Speaker Timothy Ekpo
Timothy Ekpo, D.O., a world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, recently visited Kesier University Miami as a guest lecturer. Ekpo spoke with KU Miami students in the physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, and nursing programs.
Ekpo presented “Surgical Management and Post-Operative Rehabilitation of the Hip and Knee” to the students. The two-hour presentation included discussion of clinical cases, medical diagnoses, radiographic assessment, and videos on actual hip and knee surgeries. He discussed new protocols for hip and knee surgeries and the reasoning behind these advancements.
Ekpo, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in adult hip and knee reconstruction. He is a faculty member at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine and the Medical Director for Joint Replacement Surgery at Henry Ford Allegiance Health.
