Keiser University Miami Students Celebrate Pinning Ceremony

Keiser University Miami nursing students celebrated their pinning ceremony on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Students who took part in the ceremony also received their Leadership Distinction recognitions and cords for successfully completing the nursing program. Two students, Marien Peralta and Jenny Normil, were awarded the Academic Excellence and Clinical Excellence Awards for their outstanding achievement.

Celebrated by nursing students throughout the world, a pinning ceremony is a symbolic welcoming of newly graduated nurses into the nursing profession. The new nurses are presented with nursing pins by the faculty of the nursing school but more often a loved one chosen by the graduate. Often the nurses recite the Nightingale Pledge named after Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
