Keiser University Port St. Lucie Students Enjoy Leadership Distinction Program Events
As part of Keiser University’s Leadership Distinction program, Port St. Lucie campus students recently enjoyed discussions with Sheriff Ken Mascara from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and Eleanor Eberhart-Chin, Operations Manager for the Fort Pierce Career Center of CareerSource Research Coast. Led by Student Services Director Leslie Haviland, the group was thankful to gain insights from Sheriff Mascara relating to community safety and his role in protecting the community. Chin shared valuable information relating to proper interview communication skills and follow-up techniques while also inviting guests to participate in roundtable exercises to overcome workforce problems.
Founded by Belinda Keiser, Keiser University’s Vice Chancellor of Community Relations and Advancement, the Leadership Distinction Program provides students the opportunity to interact with community leaders, advisory board members, and employers, as they attend their campus’ series of events. After completing the series and serving volunteer hours, graduates don red chords at their commencement ceremony and are presented a letter from the campus president along with a certificate of completion to add to their portfolios.
