Keiser University Ranks Among Top Colleges and Universities Nationwide for Associate Degrees

Keiser University earned top marks as one of the best universities in the country for associate degree programs in a recent ranking from Intelligent.com. Keiser earned the No. 37 overall spot on the list which evaluated associate degree programs at community colleges, public and private universities, and technical institutes.

“Pursuing an associate degree is an effective way for students to prepare for employment in a variety of in-demand jobs that are critical to the workforce,” said Arthur Keiser, Ph.D., Chancellor of Keiser University. “Higher earning potential and opportunities for advancement are just a few benefits to earning an associate degree.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), occupations in which workers often are required to have an associate degree are growing faster than occupations that require other types of training. The BLS cites employment in associate and postsecondary nondegree-level occupations is projected to grow 11 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the 7 percent average projected for all occupations and the 4 percent expected in occupations typically requiring some college but no degree.

Of the 100 occupations the BLS tracks that require an associate degree, jobs in healthcare and information technology will be among the fastest growing in the future. Careers in nursing, medical assisting, and IT are expected to add a combined 426,000 jobs by 2029.

With a focus on career readiness, Keiser University offers multiple associate degree programs in some of Florida’s key industries such as defense and homeland security, transportation and logistics, cyber security and information technology, and nursing and other health sciences. Keiser is the number one producer of nurses in the state of Florida and a leading contributor of health care workers.

Intelligent.com’s rankings evaluated, and graded, institutions based on their cost, course offerings, reputation, faculty, and course delivery methods, including online, in-person, and hybrid courses. Keiser University was one of only five school in Florida to earn a spot on the list and the only Florida-based university with a statewide presence. Keiser University enrolls approximately 20,000 students at more than 21 campuses throughout Florida, internationally, and online. Keiser has previously been named No. 11 for social mobility on U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Colleges ranking.
