KU Daytona Beach OTA Students Enjoy Hosting Cultural Fair, Field Trips to Area Resource Centers

Keiser University Daytona Beach campus Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) students recently hosted a Cultural Fair and also enjoyed field trips to area therapy and resource centers.

Human Occupation and Development Across the Lifespan class members enjoyed increasing cultural awareness and sensitivity as they showcased their research through an array of exhibits, photos, activities, music, and food.  As guests gained cultural knowledge about countries such as Egypt, India, Israel and Africa, students also provided information relating to Occupational Therapy access in each region.

The group also enjoyed field trips to The Conklin Center for the Blind and the Carlton Shores Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where they enjoyed tours and learned more about visual impairments, mobility tools and services, adaptive equipment, the neurodevelopment OTA approach, functional transfers, and more.
