KU Doctoral Candidate Looks Forward to Furthering Educational Opportunities
Theresa Anuriuwa-Nnodum, a Keiser University Instructional Design and Technology student is now one step closer to earning her doctoral degree as an Educational Specialist thanks to the completion of her residency program at Keiser University’s Flagship campus.
The Bridgeport, Connecticut resident plans to continue impacting learners of her diaspora community and in her home country of Nigeria through improved programming and the creation of online learning platforms.
The quest to honor her late husband Valentine Onyemaechi-Nnodum has been a major motivation to achieve the goal. “He encouraged me to obtain the highest degree available in my field as an educator, so I’m thrilled to be so near completion,” said Anuriuwa-Nnodum who currently serves as a high school science teacher and credits Keiser University professors for their support along the way. “Keiser faculty members are very knowledgeable and maintain uniformity and consistency in course design, implementation, and academic expectation which results in meaningful learning experiences for we students,” she said.
When asked what she recommends to others who are working to advance their education, Anuriuwa-Nnodum shared, “When the going gets tough, it’s always important to reach out to faculty members for help. My experience in such situations has garnered a quick response and meaningful assistance.”
Keiser University’s Education Specialist degree in Instructional Design and Technology program enables students to contribute to the education profession through independent learning and scholarship. Upon completion of the program, students are able to evaluate and apply current practices in course, program, and training development using effective instructional design and models supporting technology-based learning. In addition, they are able to evaluate and assess a range of technology-based learning models while effectively integrating their use to support learner success, explore and extrapolate implications in the advancement of future technologies in education, and more.
