KU Flagship Campus Leader Voted Sun Conference Council of Presidents Chair
Keiser University Flagship President Dr. Gary Vonk has been voted The Sun Conference Council of Presidents Chair, the group’s Council of Presidents recently announced.
“As we continue to watch our athletes grow and develop both academically and athletically, I am honored to participate in this role, and look forward to further assisting the organization as it remains one of the most successful conferences in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics,” said Dr. Vonk.
In the position, Dr. Vonk will work with the organization’s commissioner on the oversight of the league, develop agendas for various governing bodies and serve as the chair of the executive committee which handles all major business decisions between the Council of Presidents and Athletic Directors.
“Dr. Vonk has been serving on the Council of President’s Executive Committee since its inception, and has done so with great wisdom, energy, engagement, and a vision for a truly premier National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics conference,” said Al Panu, Past President of the Sun Conference Council of Presidents and Chancellor of the University of South Carolina Beaufort.
Dr. Vonk will serve the organization for the next two years.
