KU Fort Lauderdale Campus’ Constitution Week Celebrations Include Welcome from Co-Founder, Proclamation from Mayor

Keiser University’s Fort Lauderdale campus recently kicked-off an important celebration by welcoming Mayor Dean Trantalis who proclaimed an official Keiser University Constitution Week.

Greeted by Mrs. Evelyn Keiser and campus President Rhonda Fuller, Mayor Trantalis read a proclamation that was signed by the Fort Lauderdale City Commission to name September 17-21 Constitution Week at Keiser University. Students then enjoyed the opportunity to interact with Mayor Trantalis while signing a “Mock Constitution” and enjoying celebratory cake. Additional guests included Father Bob of All Saints Soup Kitchen, Ombudsman and Reverend Louise Morley from Keiser University’s Office of the Chancellor, and Broward Art Guild President Anabel Precher and members Raquel Rub and Marc Gave who graciously decorated the Keiser University lobby red white and blue.

Later in the week, students also enjoyed a Coffee Chat hosted by Library Director Nicholas Blaga who’d showcased library constitution displays while discussing important facts relating to the document and how it continues to impact the lives of millions.  Voter Education and Special Events Coordinator Jessica Crawford of the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office also visited the campus to register students to vote and enlist them to work the polls for the upcoming November Election.
