KU Orlando Campus Students Enjoy Visit to Training Facility
Keiser University, Orlando campus Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology (SMFT) students recently enjoyed a visit to D1 Training, a facility that utilizes Division 1 strength and conditioning programs supported by scientific research to support athletes.
The group participated in a 54-minute ‘bootcamp’ style workout. “It was explained to us that the most important part of the workout is a dynamic warm-up. It is so important in fact that it typically last ten to twelve minutes,” said professor Stefane Dias of the lesson that began with a variety of preliminary exercises at the facility’s indoor 20-yard line, and then progressed to strengthening routines using both body resistance and weights at various stations.
Following the workout and a final stretch, students enjoyed a tour of the facility and learned more about its many programs for professional and collegiate athletes.
