KU Orlando Students Study US Obesity Epidemic
Keiser University Orlando campus students recently learned more about the US obesity epidemic thanks to a presentation by Dr. Eduardo Poloni, Founder and Clinical Director of Synergie, a treatment center focused on exercise performance, weight management and lifestyle medicine.
Spearheaded and translated to English from Portugese by professor Stefane Dias, the program shed light on the social, environmental, and biological causes of the growing problem.
A 2000 graduate of Universidade Federal do Paraná with a specialty in Sports and Exercise Medicine, Poloni is board certified in Nutritional Medicine, an official medical specialty in Brazil. As a member of The Endocrine Society, The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, and The Obesity Society, he has directed his studies to the endocrine influences on body composition. He earned his Clinical Exercise Physiologists certification from the American College of Sports Medicine in 2010, followed by his Sports Nutritionist certification from the International Society of Sports Nutrition in 2011, and his Sports Medicine International Olympic Committee Post-Graduate Diploma in 2018.
