KU PSL President is Honored as Community Hero
Keiser University Port St. Lucie Campus President Leslie Kristof was recently recognized as a Community Hero thanks to the campus’ support of a program supporting the safety of high school students.
The Keiser University Port St. Lucie campus serves as a community partner for Project Graduation, a nationally recognized drug and alcohol-free program that is designed to encourage graduating seniors to avoid substance abuse, and to stay off the streets on graduation night. Now supported by Tykes & Teens, Inc., Project Graduation has served more than 13,000 Martin County public high school seniors for over 20-years. Police reports of incidents involving high school seniors on graduation dates have been insignificant, and there have been no Driving Under the Influence arrests or deaths on those dates since the program’s inception.
Tykes & Teens was founded in 1996, and has provided mental health services to more than 35,000 children in need. The organization is dedicated to strengthening families and preventing suicide, substance use and other dangerous behaviors by ensuring that all children have access to high quality mental health services.
