KU West Palm Beach Students Apply Newfound Knowledge to Evaluate Murder Trial Testimony

Under the leadership of Department Chair Patrick Nicolello, Keiser University West Palm Beach campus Crime Scene Technology students recently visited the Palm Beach County Courthouse to observe a murder trial.

In addition to both direct and cross examination relating to a juvenile who was being prosecuted for allegedly shooting an adult over a drug purchase, the group was able to apply their newfound crime scene knowledge to evaluate the testimony of a witness, the lead detective, the crime scene investigator and the detective assigned to the computer forensics unit of the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.

Now in their last nine months of the Crime Scene Technology program, the group looks forward to participating in their own mock trial and to ‘testify’ regarding their involvement in the investigation.
