KU’s Flagship Campus Kicks-Off Its Equestrian Club

Keiser University’s Flagship Campus recently kicked-off its inaugural Equestrian Club with its first lessons held at Equus Equestrian Center under the direction of Wall Street Farm owners Heidi and Steve Lengyel.

Freshmen Amandalynn Mayo and Vanessa Salinas prepared by grooming and tacking their lesson horses prior to the lesson, and then enjoyed individual instruction based on their current level of riding which included walk, trot, canter, and jumping around the course.  Following the session, the students untacked and spent time cooling down their horses.

While the first day proved to be a big success for the student riders, they will be working hard this semester in order to compete this winter in local and intercollegiate competitions.  The Keiser University Flagship campus plans to hold an equestrian open house this fall so that the community and all Keiser University personnel can learn more about the unique equestrian club and the university’s academic equine concentrations.
