Launch of Sonography Provides Wellness, Educational, Workforce Opportunities

The Event Welcomed Partners from Near and Far
Held at Keiser’s Medical Sonography Lab in partnership with The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, the event welcomed community partners and healthcare affiliates. The ceremony officially launched the Associate of Science degree program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ultrasound) and celebrated Keiser’s ongoing efforts in creating educational and workforce opportunities.
Community Members Benefit
Guests enjoyed opening remarks and insights from Campus President Maria Mead and Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Shyam Mistry. They then learned more about the program’s fulfillment of regional workforce needs and its role in strengthening clinical partnerships, as well as its value to the fields of abdominal and vascular imaging, obstetrics and gynecology, and more.
Dr. Mistry also recognized the many healthcare and community partners and clinical affiliates whose collaborations make the program possible.
About Keiser University’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) Program
Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography presents an integration of didactic, laboratory, and clinical experiences. The program prepares students to function as entry-level diagnostic medical sonographers. Sonographers are highly skilled professionals qualified to provide patient services using diagnostic techniques. Under the supervision of a licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy, they assist physicians in gathering the necessary data to reach diagnostic decisions.
