Port St. Lucie Campus President’s Award Winner Saves Child’s Life
Keiser University Port St. Lucie campus student Patricia Karger recently put her medical skills to the test when an infant choked and stopped breathing in a local store. Karger, an associate of science in nursing student who’d administered CPR and initiated a 911 call, is credited for saving the child’s life.
Recognized by her professors and campus leaders for being a model student during clinical rotations and in her role as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, the Pt. St. Lucie resident received a KU Seahawk President’s Award Certificate, an opportunity for lunch with president Leslie Kristof, special parking in front of campus, and prominent placement of her award photo.
