Robert J. Fashano Leadership Library Opens at Keiser University

New Hub for Leadership Development at Keiser University

Keiser University’s Flagship Campus recently welcomed Board of Advisor and Leadership Mentor Bob Fashano and his family to celebrate the dedication of the Robert J. Fashano Leadership Library, a new space designed to strengthen leadership education and mentorship opportunities for students.

The dedication marked the opening of what Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Jennifer Peluso described as ‘a gift designed to bridge the space between the classroom and the real world.’ She noted that the library reflects its namesake’s vision, generosity, and deep belief in the power of people to shape the future.

Bridging Academic Learning and Real-World Leadership

Designed as a collaborative learning environment, the Leadership Library will serve as a hub where students can engage directly with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community partners. The space will host workshops, seminars, mentoring programs, and informal discussions that connect academic theory with real-world leadership practice.

The library’s collection focuses on key areas such as leadership, ethics, service, and innovation, reinforcing Keiser University’s commitment to experiential learning and professional development.

Inspiring Future Leaders Through Reading and Mentorship

Quoting President Harry S. Truman’s words, “Readers are not always leaders, but leaders are always readers,” Fashano shared his enthusiasm for the library’s purpose. “I am excited for our students to have a dedicated space devoted exclusively to the topic of leadership,” Fashano said. “The reading material, together with regular workshops, will support and assist them as they learn and grow.”

Dr. Debora Johnston, Keiser University’s Flagship Campus Director of Academic Affairs, emphasized the broader meaning behind the space. “The leadership library stands as a reminder that great leaders are not defined solely by what they know, but by how they continue to learn and grow. Within these walls, ideas are shaped, voices are strengthened, and leaders are prepared for the work of shaping what comes next,” she said.

Supporting Leadership Through the AMPLIFY Mentorship Program

Fashano is also among the founders of Keiser University’s AMPLIFY Mentorship Program, an initiative focused on fostering student aspirations, mentorship, progression, learning, inspiration, flourishing, and yielding positive change.

The program provides upper-level graduate students with opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills through shared experiences with senior-level professionals and community engagement opportunities, further reinforcing the mission of the Leadership Library.

Location and Access Information

The Robert J. Fashano Leadership Library is located in Room 204 of the Turner Education Center at Keiser University’s Flagship Campus. Faculty and students interested in learning more or scheduling use of the space should contact Amber Hogan-Spoon at [email protected].
