Thankful for the EASE Grant, Keiser University Student Recognizes the Critical Role of Healthcare Professionals

Keiser University West Palm Beach campus freshman Paige Fraser is appreciative of the growing recognition those in the field are gaining as they combat the COVID19 pandemic.

“Nurses, doctors, and other health professionals are stepping up and assuming many different roles to care for those who are in vulnerable states and separated from their families,” said the Delray Beach, Florida native who thanks professor Romedrude Faustin and others for their encouragement and support as she begins the Associate of Science in Nursing program. “Growing up I always knew I wanted to join a profession that involves caring for others, so nursing is the perfect match for me to accomplish the goal,” she said.

Fraser is also grateful for the Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) grant which has supported her quest to pursue the career. “I am able to focus on furthering my education, as the funds relieve the stress of tuition costs while providing the opportunity for students to choose a university that suits their own educational needs,” she said.

When asked what she’d recommend to those considering the vocation of nursing, Fraser reflected. “When times get tough it’s important for those in healthcare programs to remember why they started. For me, the knowledge that I am going to make someone’s day a little bit better when I graduate is the fuel I need to pursue the degree,” she said.

Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Nursing program prepares students to practice professional nursing. Professional nursing involves the performance of those acts requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skill based upon applied principles of biological, physical, psychological, and social sciences.
