Veterans are Lauded at KU Pembroke Pines Campus Ceremony

Keiser University’s Pembroke Pines campus hosted a Veterans Day Military Appreciation Ceremony to recognize students, staff, faculty and community members for their service.

The affair began as Dr. Velazquez, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and a US Army Retiree who had served 21-years welcomed veterans.  The Presentation of Colors then followed, as the National Anthem was sung by Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students from Everglades High School. Colonel Ken W. Spielvogel, commander of the program and a retired US Army commissioned officer from the Pentagon and Department of the Army G-1 was then honored for his 30-years of service along with special guest Tom Colvin, a World War II veteran.

Fellow veterans were then recognized by Campus President Piotr Lechowski, along with Colonel Spielvogel as they were presented with appreciation certificates. Veterans were again thanked for their service as the ceremony concluded with a light lunch.
