West Palm Beach Campus Nursing Students Gain Important Information Relating to Chronic Illnesses

Keiser University West Palm Beach campus Nursing students recently attended a seminar delivered by Dr. Kristin Brittain, Writing Studio Coordinator.  The informative event focused on the prevalence of chronic disease in America, specifically lupus, and how awareness of patient experiences can serve to educate and inform healthcare providers.

Students were able to delve into the severity and pervasiveness of the disease, the realities of living with a chronic illness, the importance of patient-centered care, the resources offered by the Lupus Foundation of America, and more.

Keiser University’s Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing emphasizes critical thinking, leadership, management, research, physical assessment, and health promotion across a variety of community-based healthcare settings.  The curriculum accentuates cultural, political, economic, and social issues that affect patients and influence healthcare delivery through both online classroom and clinical components.
