Women’s Chamber Foundation Awards Scholarships to KU West Palm Beach Students

Keiser University West Palm Beach campus students Karla Thiele, Cassondra Corbin-Thaddies and McKinsey Rupert were recently awarded $1200 scholarships. The honor was part of the Women’s Chamber Foundation’s “Big Red Apple” Scholarship Luncheon held at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport.

Corbin-Thaddies, a previous recipient of a Women’s Chamber Foundation Scholarship and a Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Design and Technology candidate at Keiser University, is founder of Connect to Greatness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the character, confidence and consciousness of African-American/Black Middle School boys through self-discovery sessions facilitated by African-American male coaches.

Thiele, a Keiser University student working toward her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, recently served at the AmeriCorps Washington DC National Program where she served in a high poverty low resource area as a mentor, tutor, and behavioral coach. Along with three friends she founded Strong Women Inspiring Interdisciplinary Fortitude and Transformation (SWIIFT), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and scholarship funds to deserving women.

Rupert, a Keiser University sophomore, is working toward her goal of earning a degree in Radiologic Technology. In high school, she excelled academically and was involved in a variety of groups while also serving as Captain of the Dance Company.

The mission of the Women’s Chamber Foundation is to serve members and women in the community by raising funds to support scholarships for deserving women and girls who aspire to achieve economic success through higher education.
