Daytona Beach Campus Leaders Support the Center for Visually Impaired

Keiser University Daytona Beach campus Occupational Therapy Assistant program Fieldwork Coordinator Derek Holloway, faculty member Mildred Alfonso, student Malerie Davis, and Associate Director of Student Services Elaine McCoy recently enjoyed attending Dining in the Dark, an annual fun-filled fundraising event designed to support the services offered to those impacted by vision loss.

Held at The Shores Resort and Spa, the affair hosted by the Center for Visually Impaired included a silent auction and guests dined in complete darkness, which created a unique sensory awareness experience that provided them a first-hand glimpse into the lives of those who are completely blind, taking them on an unforgettable journey in the dark.

The Center for the Visually Impaired is a nonprofit organization that offers free independent living, assistive technology, mobility and vocational training to the visually impaired community.
