Fort Lauderdale Campus Donates Over 100 Pairs of Shoes to Worthy Cause

Violet Lowrey, Keiser University’s Fort Lauderdale campus Director of Student Services and Professor Reginald Darbonne from the campus’ Community Service Cross Functional Team were pleased to present Maddy Chusid, Director of Operations for In Jacob’s Shoes 110 pairs of footwear collected by students, faculty and staff.

The Jacob S. Zweig Foundation was formed in honor of a young man who was tragically killed at the age of seventeen. Jacob touched many people while volunteering as a Soccer Buddy for children with special needs. To honor Jacob’s legacy, his family and friends wanted to support local organizations and continue Jacob’s way of treating others with dignity and inclusion. Formed in 2009, the Foundation, known as In Jacob’s Shoes, honors the love and encouragement Jacob gave to all who knew him and will strive to continue Jacob’s way of making a difference in the lives of others.
