Graduate Applies Business Acumen Toward Airline Industry Success
Now serving as a Regional Manager at Frontier Airlines, Keiser University Lakeland Campus graduate Peggy Hall is thankful to apply knowledge gained as a Keiser University Business Management major.
As a working mom, Hall became discouraged that she was unable to advance professionally while also being able to devote time to her growing family, and although she knew she could succeed academically, she was still a bit apprehensive about enrolling in college. “I was very frustrated that I could not advance and have the opportunity to earn more money. I always wanted to get my degree but was discouraged by the lack of available time, and the thought of going back to school over 30 years since I left high school was also scary and a bit intimidating for me,” recalled Hall a mother of six girls.
Despite the hesitation, Hall’s decision to move forward and enroll at Keiser University’s Lakeland Campus in 2020 served as a turning point that would eventually open doors and increase opportunities as she applied her business and marketing skills.
“Keiser changed my life tremendously, I am earning the money I need in a career I love, and am spending a lot more time with my family. My life has enriched so much since my third year of schooling, everything has become easier to attain academically and professionally. The good practices of meeting school deadlines have improved my work ethic in meeting professional deadlines on work assignments. I am more capable now than I was before I began my schooling,” reflected Hall who sends special thanks to her statistics Professor Uan Chu. “I can honestly say I had many great instructors who were all very flexible and so understanding of working students. Communication was key to getting good grades because there were many times I had to reach out and explain tardy submissions. My teachers understood life happens and that we all juggle equally important responsibilities. This allowed me the opportunity to keep my GPA on track, which was not my initial goal but easily became my driving motivator,” said Hall, who graduated magna cum laude.
Keiser University’s Bachelor of Arts degree in Business focuses on a basic understanding of business skills needed for entry-level business professionals. The program introduces students to the functional areas of business, and the business environment including ethical business practices, and technical and communication skills needed in today’s business environment.
