Keiser University College of Golf Graduate Unveils Nonprofit Designed to Empower Young Players

Keiser University College of Golf (KUCOG) alumnus Willie Scott is thankful to unveil a nonprofit organization designed to empower children with the healthy camaraderie and important tools instilled by the game.

With the goal of equipping tomorrow’s leaders with golf skills and sportsmanship, Scott and his Treasure Coast, Florida area Building Opportunities Through Golf (BOTG) team believe that the discipline and dedication gained from the pastime will follow them through life in all of their endeavors.  “With the slogan, ‘no child will be left behind, and there’s no ball that we can’t find,’ we enjoy encouraging, empowering, and providing underprivileged children and young adults with the necessary tools to develop into well-rounded individuals by introducing them to the game,” smiled Scott, a US Army Veteran of 33 years and the founder of Swing Tree Golf.

Thankful for his KUCOG experience, Scott is gratified for opportunities to mentor the next generation and credits his education as an important step in nurturing today’s youth.

“The professors really extended themselves, had a great attitude, and were very accessible,” he said. “They were constantly reminding us that regular practice and study were necessary and that if we left with the same level of knowledge and skills as when we arrived, we were doing ourselves a disservice,” said Scott who is currently collaborating with PGA and fellow nonprofit leaders to send several young golfers to the FedEx Cup Playoffs finale to be held at the East Lake Golf Club near Atlanta, George August 24 – 28.

After earning his KUCOG Bachelor of Science degree and mastering several levels of golf instruction, Scott founded Swing Tree Golf Instruction in 2019 with the goal of sharing techniques using the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) model. He then unveiled BOTG in March 2022 after recognizing the benefits of instruction for junior players. To learn more, please visit www.botginc.com
