Keiser University Nursing Leader Joins HCA Florida’s St. Lucie Hospital Governing Board of Directors

Dr. Maureen Harry, Keiser University’s Port St. Lucie Campus Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing Program Chair has joined HCA Florida’s St. Lucie Hospital Governing Board of Directors.

As a lifelong learner with the goal of positively impacting students while serving her community, Harry looks forward to helping to ensure HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital remains a premier healthcare facility by identifying community health needs, serving as a valuable workforce liaison, and further directing the campus’ BSN program as it prepares students to fill vital roles. “It is so exciting to have a “seat at the table” and a voice with Keiser University representation to help identify community health needs at HCA Florida Port St. Lucie, a premiere healthcare facility and community partner. We are so proud of Dr. Harry and thank her for the amazing work she does,” said Leslie Kristof, Keiser University’s Port St. Lucie Campus President.

After joining Keiser University in February 2013 as an Associate of Science (ASN) in Nursing program faculty member, Harry was promoted to ASN Program Director in January 2019 and to BSN Program Chair in May of that same year. With over 29 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with various clinical experiences, she also serves as an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) site evaluator, Campus Response Team (CRT) member, and College of Nursing Assessment Committee lead. Harry earned her Doctor of Nursing degree from Capella University in 2020.

“We’re incredibly proud of Dr. Harry and her commitment to the health and wellbeing of the Port St. Lucie community,” said Arthur Keiser, Ph.D, Chancellor of Keiser University. “Dr. Harry is a veteran member of Keiser University and remains committed to providing expertise to her community and serving as a valuable partner for St. Lucie Hospital.”

Keiser University’s Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is offered for students beginning their first professional nursing program. Graduates will be prepared to provide compassionate, patient-centered, culturally competent nursing care to individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations in a variety of settings, using evidence-based knowledge and skills related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management, and end-of-life care to improve healthcare outcomes. They will practice in partnership with patients as members and leaders of interprofessional healthcare teams, utilizing the most current healthcare technologies. Successful completion of the program qualifies graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
