Keiser University Nursing Program Featured by Brevard Business News

The Brevard Business News recently featured Keiser University’s nursing program in its April 11, 2022, edition. The article discussed the expansion of Keiser University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to the Melbourne campus.

Keiser University is one of the largest producers of nursing graduates in the state of Florida and the University is a statewide leader in nursing and allied health education. Since 2019, Keiser has graduated mores than 3,000 nursing students who are filling critical job vacancies throughout Florida.

According to the Florida Hospital Association (FHA), Florida is facing a shortfall of nearly 60,000 nurses by 2035. Keiser University is working with the FHA and other organizations throughout the state to close that gap and produce well-qualified nurses for hospitals and clinics throughout the state.

“We’re working closely with hospitals and providing support for the hospitals to encourage them to open up their floors for clinical students — that is one of the big challenges we face,” said Arthur Keiser, PhD, Chancellor of Keiser University. “Keiser University invested a lot of money and effort in building its simulation laboratories and simulation equipment to closely mimic patient care. The nursing boards were cooperative. We want them to continue to support the different modalities in education.”

Keiser University currently offers its BSN program at campuses throughout the state with the program in Melbourne officially launching in May 2022. The program at the Melbourne campus will have two entry points, an accelerated BSN designed for students who have previous college experience, and the FastTrack BSN, available for students beginning their first professional nursing program.
