Keiser University Pembroke Pines Hosts Annual Criminal Justice Day
On February 27, 2019, Keiser University Pembroke Pines hosted its bi-annual Criminal Justice Day. More than 200 local high school students and members of the community joined KU students in attendance at the event which featured members of the law enforcement community.
Now in its second year, Criminal Justice Day brings together an array of local, federal, and state law enforcement agencies in an effort to expose young people to potential careers in criminal justice. The event aims to foster healthy relationships between members of the law enforcement community and the public.
Students from six South Florida high schools attended the event and took part in a series of workshops hosted by law enforcement officials. Session topics and demonstrations included search warrant procedures, K-9 training, fingerprinting, interrogation practices and much more. Agencies officials brought numerous law enforcement vehicles including tactical units, motorcycles, boats, and mobile crime scene units.
Law enforcement units in attendance include individuals from the: Pembroke Pines Police Department, FBI, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, US Marshal Services, Department of Homeland Security, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
