Keiser University Clearwater Students Complete Clinical Orientation at Tampa General
Surgical Technology students from Keiser University Tampa recently completed clinical orientation at Tampa General Hospital.
Successful completion of the orientation session allows Keiser students to complete their clinical rotations at the hospital. The session includes tours of the hospital and its operating rooms and an introduction to doctors and clinicians.
Keiser students who participated took the opportunity to speak to surgical technician Yanet Perrera, a 2018 graduate of Keiser Tampa’s surgical technology program. Following her graduation, Perrera quickly passed her Certified Surgical Technician (CST) exam and was hired in Tampa General’s Cardiovascular Transplant Operating Room.
Tampa General Hospital is the only Level 1 trauma center in the Tampa Bay area with only top-level medical students earning clinical spots. Since 2015, approximately 30 KU Tampa students have completed all or a portion of their clinical rotations at Tampa General.
