Keiser University’s Criminal Justice and General Education Programs Host Human Trafficking Conference
Keiser University’s Flagship Campus Criminal Justice and General Education programs recently welcomed hundreds of guests to a two-day Human Trafficking Conference.
Moderated by University Department Chair of Social Sciences Glenn Swift, the event included presentations from Rebecca McDonald, Founder of Women at Risk; Dave Aronberg, Florida State Attorney; Sal Hernandez, Deputy Chief of Operations at DeliverFund, and other presenters from a variety of organizations including the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
By taking a proactive role in addressing the humanitarian crisis of national and international significance, the event was designed to shed light on the cross-national wave of horrific crimes, while providing tools to save and support victims and to hold traffickers accountable. “With service to the community integral in our mission and Criminal Justice one of our many service-oriented programs, we at Keiser University are pleased to support this important cause and thank all of the community friends and neighbors who have joined us,” said Keiser University Flagship campus president Dr. Gary Vonk.
Keiser University’s Criminal Justice program covers topics that include but are not limited to deviant behavior, forensics, law enforcement, investigation, victimology, private security, corrections, and juvenile justice and how components work together and are governed by laws. The exploration of the American criminal justice system culminates with an emphasis on research, analysis, and the future of the system.
