KU Equestrian Team Does More than Just ‘Horse Around’

Recognizing an opportunity for community involvement, Keiser University Equestrian Team members recently arrived at Blowing Rock Preserve in Jupiter Island, Florida with bags in hand, ready to pick up beach debris from Hurricane Dorian.  Under the leadership of Julie Snyder, Director of Equestrian Programs, the group provided their own “horsepower” and was able to gather over 60 pounds of plastics, bottles, and other objects.

“With all of the microplastic and bottle ring caps gathered, our group has potentially saved marine life and sea birds. This opportunity proved that education can go well beyond the classroom and riding arenas,” said Snyder.
