KU’s Kids in STEM Golf Classic Supports Important Causes
Keiser University was pleased to recently hold its Keiser University Kids in STEM Golf Classic at the PGA National Resort and Spa Champion Course.
“We were delighted to partner with Kids in STEM as we share similar roles in educating future leaders in the areas of science, technology, engineering, math and health care,” said Dr. Gary Vonk, Keiser University’s Flagship Campus President. “As a university that offers a variety of medical and technological degrees, we very much appreciate the value of such programs which continue to strengthen our nation’s innovative and competitive spirit.”
Keiser University College of Golf student Willie Scott was on hand to share how Tiger Woods has served as an inspiration from a player perspective. Scott, a veteran with 33 years of service, served as a volunteer at the event and is now one-step closer to opening his own technology-based company. Swing Tree Golf business is a three-phase teaching system that mirrors the players physical limitations with modern golf technology. Scott shared his thoughts with WPTV photo journalist Sean Sallis. Each Student benefits greatly from the attention that our professors selflessly give toward their success.
Kids in STEM seeks to inspire students by introducing them to experiences in each discipline which build pathways to future careers. “STEM encompasses the jobs of the future,” said Jody Dedon, Executive Director of Indy Women in Tech. “The study of STEM prepares kids with essential critical thinking, innovation, communication, and real-world problem-solving skills.
