Nursing Graduate Focuses on Pediatric Care and Overall Wellness

Known as the ‘caring mom’ figure within her circle, Emily Fitzpatrick was encouraged by friends and family members to pursue a degree in healthcare after first earning her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology.

Now a Treasure Coast adult and pediatric emergency room nurse, Fitzpatrick, a Keiser University Port St. Lucie Campus 2020 graduate, is confident she made the right decision. “I would always take care of everyone before myself and knew I needed to expand that personality trait into my career, and thank goodness I did,” she said, while adding that she’s thankful to apply hands-on practice sessions in addition to academic insights as she fulfills the life-saving role. “Our clinical experience was extremely beneficial, and I still apply the information in my practice today,” she said.

Fitzpatrick has also taken her desire to instill wellness one step further, as she opened a concierge intravenous hydration and vitamin therapy company in 2024.  Now focused on expanding the organization, she sends thanks to many for their unwavering support and encourages others to hold close to their dreams. “There are always new things to learn and do in healthcare and nursing is an incredible career with a ton of room for expansion and growth,” she said.

Keiser University’s Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program prepares graduates to provide compassionate, patient-centered, culturally competent nursing care to individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations in a variety of settings. While using evidence-based knowledge and skills related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management, and end-of-life care to improve healthcare outcomes, graduates practice in partnership with patients as members and leaders of interprofessional healthcare teams, utilizing the most current healthcare technologies.
