Murder Trial Observation Provides Tampa Legal Studies Students First-Hand Insight

Keiser University Tampa campus Criminal Law class students were recently able to observe a murder trial at the Florida 13th Judicial Circuit Courthouse.

The first degree case held particular interest because the defendant, who was charged with robbery and first degree murder, waived his 5th Amendment right to remain silent and testified on his own behalf.

Led by professor David Fernandez, the Legal Studies program group reviewed testimony from civilians, law enforcement officers and forensic specialists while learning more about judicial vocabulary, charges and defenses, reference materials, jury instruction, and more.
