Keiser University’s Tallahassee Campus is celebrating Medical Assistant Recognition Week along with the American Medical Technologist agency which certifies graduates upon passing their exam and completing all requirements.  Each October the organization holds Medical Assistant Recognition Week, and this year is promoting their role as being “The Heart of Healthcare.”

Medical Assistants work with medical providers both in office and clinical settings.  Professionals in the field provide the support to assist with vital signs, take x-rays, perform electrocardiograms, and assist in minor surgeries or other office procedures as well as other duties under the direct supervision of a physician or a practitioner.  Additional duties include scheduling of appointments, maintaining patient records, administering injections, processing insurance claims, and more.  To learn more about Keiser University’s Medical Assisting program, please visit: https://www.keiseruniversity.edu/medical-assisting-as/
