Keiser University Nursing student Natasha Andris looks forward to pursuing a career geared toward intensive care thanks to a lifelong desire to nurture and heal.

The Jupiter High School graduate shared that she’s had a passion for comforting others as early as she can remember and has always been motivated to work in a fast-paced profession. “Since a very young age, I’ve gravitated toward a high-energy environment and the COVID19 pandemic has reinforced that even more. My Keiser University nursing clinical experiences and senior year preceptorship at an intensive care unit further support the idea,” said Andris who recently rolled-up her sleeves to serve as a volunteer administering the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) swab test at a local testing site.

Andris is also thankful for the Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) grant which has made it possible for her to forego an additional job and instead focus on studies. “Nurses have demonstrated for decades that they can dramatically assist healing, and now the world is taking notice. I am extremely honored to receive the funding, as I am now able to further my education in the highly competitive field,” she smiled.

The Keiser University Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is offered for students beginning their first professional nursing program. Depending on the campus, students in this program of professional nursing may attend in either the Fall/Spring semesters only or year-round, for eight semesters. Graduates will be prepared to provide compassionate, patient-centered, culturally competent nursing care to individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations in a variety of settings, using evidence-based knowledge and skills related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management, and end-of-life care to improve healthcare outcomes. They will practice in partnership with patients as members and leaders of interprofessional healthcare teams, utilizing the most current healthcare technologies. Successful completion of the program qualifies graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
