Alumnus Returns to Keiser University to Mentor and Help Prepare Future Professionals
Soon after graduating from Keiser University’s Sarasota campus Radiologic Technology program in 2010, Jim Hunt joined Trident Care, a national provider of mobile diagnostic services as a Technologist.
Now the Southwest Florida Area Manager for the organization, he recently visited his former instructor Marion Bechtold and students in the program to share his experience and help prepare them for employment opportunities by conducting mock interviews.
“It’s a great feeling to engage and mentor students who are in the same position that I found myself in years ago when my academic life was nearing an end. Sharing insights about the climate of the workplace and offering advice on how to maximize a potential interview should allow for Keiser graduates to stand out during the selection process,” he said.
Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology prepares students for entry-level positions in the profession, producing radiographic images in accordance with standardized practices and procedures. The program provides radiologic information including medical terminology, patient care, radiographic procedures, radiation protection, equipment operations and image production and evaluation. The program’s graduates are eligible to take the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and are eligible to be licensed by the State of Florida to practice Radiologic Technology.
