Hawk Talk Presentations Highlight Community Volunteer Opportunities

Keiser University’s Flagship Campus Hawk Talk forum recently welcomed a distinguished panel of community leaders who further opened the doors to student volunteer, personal development, and career-building opportunities.

Moderated by Professor of Business Law Lonnie Martens, guests gained insights from several non-profit organizational leaders. Highlights of the speeches included Ricky Aiken, founder of InnerCity Innovators, who shared how he created his organization after being further motivated to break the cycle of drug use and violence due to the tragic shooting of a former friend and fellow advocate for inner city safety and reform. Guests also gained insights from a variety of presenters including Eustus Fagan from CareerSource Palm Beach County who noted the many psychological, social, and career benefits of volunteering.

Keiser University is grateful for the many volunteer and collaborative opportunities provided by the event and thanks the presenters and participants who also include Angela Wing-Allen of Holy Ground Palm Beach County, Kimberly McCarten of The Arc of Palm Beach County, and Christine Raymond of Extraordinary Charities as well as representatives from Junior Achievement, Guardian Ad Litem, Milagro Center, and Sea Turtle Adventures.

Keiser University’s Hawk Talk series is designed to provide students, faculty, staff, and community members the opportunity to gain insights from educational, business, and nonprofit leaders. To learn more, please contact Professor Lonnie Martens at [email protected]
