Dr. Jan Del Signore, MSGT, USAF, Retired, Keiser University Associate Vice Chancellor of Military Affairs was recently elected President of the National Association of Veterans’ Program Administrators (NAVPA) for a third-consecutive term.

Founded in 1975, NAVPA is a recognized organization of program administrators who work for universities and colleges, trade schools, and apprenticeship programs to ensure student veterans are provided the best service and most accurate access to their GI Bill® benefits.

Dr. Del Signore was first elected to the NAVPA Board in 2012 and has served as President since 2019. Her previous roles with the organization include Vice President, a member of both the legislative and education committees, and a two-time conference chair. Dr. Del Signore joined Keiser University in 2000 as the Dean of Academic Affairs at Keiser University Tallahassee following 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. During her military career, Dr. Del Signore served in the Gulf War, achieving the rank of Master Segreant.

As President of NAVPA, Dr. Del Signore, and her fellow board members, work to advocate for the improvement and development of educational opportunities to active-duty personnel, veterans, and their dependents. NAVPA does this through communications with the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate Veterans Affairs Committees, the American Council on Education (ACE), the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), and other national and regional professional organizations concerning NAVPA’s mission. NAVPA has been instrumental the past year in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on student veterans, the recent 85/15 changes from the VA, and the implementation of the Isakson and Roe Veterans Health Care and Improvement Act of 2020.

Keiser University has been a NAVPA member since 2011. The NAVPA is dedicated to helping our nations’ veterans and their families achieve their educational goals through the advancement and improvement of veteran education benefits. For more information about NAVPA, visit:
