Keiser University Fort Lauderdale Hosts National Association of Health Services Executives

Keiser University Fort Lauderdale recently hosted the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) for a joint lecture and networking event. Attendees of the event included NAHSE members from South Florida and across the country in addition to faculty, staff and students from Keiser Fort Lauderdale.

The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) is a non-profit association of Black health care executives founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities.

Speakers for the evening discussed various topics. LaTasha Russell, Psy.D, Clinical Psychologist and President of the South Florida Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists, spoke about mental health. Celesia Valentine, VP of Business Development at IVantage Health Analytics, discussed networking habits, and Pedro J. Greer, MD, Professor of Medicine, Founding Chair of Humanities, Health and Society, and Associate Dean for Community Engagement at Florida International University, spoke on social determinants of health

The unique event allowed KU Fort Lauderdale students and faculty an opportunity to interact with NAHSE members from around the country. NAHSE members were excited to partner with KU in the many roles of job placements for students and graduates, advisory board, LDP Speakers, and intern/externships.
